A journey through the vineyards : The Loire Valley, our passion

A Journey in the Vines is a journey through the most beautiful grape varieties of the Loire Valley, from the granite soils of the Nantes region to the clay soils of the Saumur and Touraine regions.

It is also a takeover of Jo Pithon and the trilogy that made his success: Grololo. In order not to betray anything of Jo’s legacy, we have chosen to offer the Grololo white, red and rosé in the same way, both in their content and their container.

Of course, Un Voyage dans les Vignes also offers new references that meet the same requirements of 100% organic vintages certified by Qualité France and the result of a fine knowledge of those who make (good) wine in the Loire Valley. But a little escapade in other regions is also possible…

Why
the Loire Valley ?

Being from the Loire Valley, we are passionate about the richness of this land between land and sea:

  • To the west, in Nantes and Anjou: the volcanic rocks and schists of the Armorican Massif under an oceanic climate.
  • To the east, in Saumur and Tours: the chalk tufa and clays of the Paris Basin in a continental climate.

The Loire Valley is also a place of diversity and conviviality, values dear to our hearts: Anjou, Muscadet, Savennières, Saumur, Touraine, Vouvray, Coteaux du Layon, Quarts de Chaume, Champigny, Bourgueil, St Nicolas de Bourgueil…

Our heritage

Grololo : a saga from Anjou

Grololo was born in 2008 from a family passion: that of Jo Pithon, Isabelle Paillé, Wendy and Joseph. A winemaker from Maine-et-Loire and a fervent defender of Anjou wines, Jo Pithon’s project was to create a convivial quality wine to share with his friends who were harvesting the grapes, based on an indigenous grape variety: Grolleau.

But what started out as an adventure between friends quickly took on an international dimension when a Swedish importer bought an entire cuvée, allowing the Grololo trilogy to be enjoyed in over 20 countries.

Finally, Un voyage dans les Vignes is a collection of vintages developed in the context of his activity as an Artisan-Winemaker-Grower with winemaker friends on different terroirs. As figureheads: the white and red Mozaïk, in 100% Chenin and 100% Cabernet franc.
